Birds Aviary

Hundreds of different varieties of birds add colour to the zoo. This section comprises of large flightless birds, aquatic and semi aquatic forms and so many other flying birds. The entrance of the zoo is beautified by group of Flamingos in their semi aquatic enclosure. Ostrich, the fastest bird and other two large bodied flightless birds, Cassowary and Emu found close by enclosures. There are two walk-in aviaries one for endemic and indigenous birds and other one for exotic birds. Visitors can relax while in side these beautifully landscaped aviaries with shade and cool environment among freely flying birds. Bird lovers could take their initial steps of bird watching at the local bird's aviary from identifying birds hiding among trees and bushes.  Bird's calls create a pleasant environment to spend the day forgetting all worrying feelings.  Swan pond is another attractive place in the zoo.
 
  Water fall with rapidly dropping water in elevation and the pond with an island mimic with the natural environment and swimming swans, ducks, geese and other birds make this place extremely attractive. Number of different types of free living aquatic and semi aquatic birds could observe at the quarry of the zoo. Especially Spot-billed Pelicans (Pelecanus philippensis) one of the near threatened bird species in the world have used to come here for foraging fish. Some migratory birds also could observe here in the migratory season (November to February). Most colourful birds like Macaws, Pheasants, Love birds etc. please eyes of the visitors. Owls, Eagles and Kites show their carnivores adaptations increasing visitor's curiosity. Any one would like to see the Indian Pea fowl's displays in the zoo.
